Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
DDMA offers a 2 day a week BJJ fundamentals beginners class with an emphasis on self defense. If you are new to martial arts or come from a striking background and want to cross train, this class is designed for you. We do half the year in Gi, half No Gi. We teach leg locks (including heel hooks) at all levels.
Because of the small class size, you get a lot of one on one instruction every class. Often new students get stuck in bad positions during live rolls and don't know what to do. Our instructor is ready to come over and walk you through the escape so next time you have the solution. Surprisingly, this is not a common practice.

MMA & Sambo
In MMA we teach how to tie all your skills together and add in some additional specialized skills such as fighting against the wall or cage, controlling ring space, and the blending of striking, wrestling, clinches, and grappling. During this class we will help you develop strategies, concepts, and systems that work best for personal style.
Sambo, from October to April every year, is MMA taught wearing a Gi jacket, and emphasizes slightly different techniques. While MMA is heavy into wrestling, Sambo focuses more on Judo. it also uses the opponent's Gi to attack with lapel chokes, or establish control using the Gi. While traditional Sambo does not work against a wall or cage, we do, as there are many unique lapel chokes and takedowns that can be added into your game from there.

Boxing & Kickboxing
Whether you are looking for self defense, sport, or fitness, the Boxing and Kickboxing classes are ideal for you. You will learn strong fundamental striking that will hone your ability to throw crisp clean punches and kicks supported by a strong defense build on great footwork, blocking and head movement.
Expect of drilling through heavy bag, mitts, ladder drills, and partner drills to reinforce the lessons that are the key ingredients of boxing and kickboxing. Between each drill you will receive a quick 3-4 minute lesson while you catch your breath, then back to it. We finish off the class with sparring and as with the MMA class, we spar light contact to encourage skill development.
