School Code
"Martial Arts is a gateway to the Path, sometimes called the Way or the Tao (Dao). The goal of the Tao is itself. Self-Actualization is what happens along the Way." - Greg Koval
Discipline
Discipline is a skill, not a lifestyle. It is the art of learning to create habits of small sacrifices that lead to big gains. Like any other skill, the more you practice it, the better you get at it. Don't become overwhelmed by fear of long commitments, but seek single opportunities to master yourself.
Strength
The choice for virtue and pacifism can only be made from a position of strength. A weak person's virtues are abandoned when confronted by fear. Through self empowerment, we create the foundation to support self actualization.
Empathy
Through connection with people we learn how the sharing of suffering brings us closer as people. This connection teaches perspective, compassion, and kindness. Respect isn't earned. It's discovered.
Contemplation
The combination of education and introspection used to root out logical fallacies, embrace self honesty, determine a code of values, and find inner harmony.
Balance
Be disciplined, but not unyielding. Be confident in yourself but not overconfident. Be responsible for your actions, but not the actions of others toward you. Be kind to others but not a doormat.
