Rank Requirements are determined by the class instructor and are subject change and are interpreted by the instructor to determine eligibility.  These are merely guidance for students on what we are looking for at each rank but are not set in stone.  We do not do formal testings, but rather as the instructor feels that a student has reached a milestone in their training will present rank that the instructor feels matches the student's abilities.

Yellow Belt 

6 Months Total Training

  • Basic Striking - 4 Basic Boxing Punches, 4 Basic Kicks, Basic Boxing Step Footwork

  • Basic Defensive Skills - Slipping, High Shell, Long Guard Frame, Leg Kick Checking, Body Kick Guard Absorbing

  • Combination Groups- Learn at least 1 combination group

  • Nemean Fight System  - Long Guard Open Stance Expanding Contracting System and Fall Back Drill

  • Principles - Built in Defense Principle

  • Takedowns - Nemean Single Leg Entry 

  • Takedown Defense - Nemean Frame and Step Back

  • Ground  - Technical Stand Up

  • Breakfalls - Backward, Side

  • Sparring - At least 30 Sparring Matches


 

Orange Belt

1 Year Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Basic Striking - 4 Advanced Kicks, Elbow and Knee Strike Variations, overhand punching, Palm Strikes, and Skipping, Hopping, Springing, and Switch Kicks,

  • Basic Defensive Skills - Roll Unders and Pulls, Proactive and Reactive Countering, Leg Kick Step backs, Kicking Sweep Throughs, and Turning kick Hip Checks.   

  • Self Defense - Push Defense and Wrist Grab Defenses 

  • Combination Groups- Learn at least 1 more combination group (2 total)

  • Nemean Fight System  - 3 Primary Lead side attacks, 2 Primary Rear side attacks and 4 primary defenses from opportunism range

  • Principles - Percentile & Angles Principle

  • Takedowns - Low Single (straight and rotating,

  • Wall - Basic positional Control

  • Takedown Defense - Using the Wizzer and frame to extract the leg from single leg

  • Clinches / Clinch Defense - Plum Clinch Entry

  • Ground  - Posture Break punch defense from closed guard

  • Breakfalls - Front shoulder roll, back shoulder roll

  • Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank


 

Green Belt

18 Months Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Basic Striking - Double Kicks, Pendulum Step, Holy Trinity Kick Attacks from the TKD cut kick, question mark kick, Ridgehand strike, Tigermouth Strike, Knifehand strike

  • Basic Defensive Skills -   Hard blocking, intercepting strikes Lateral (side kick, front kick, straight), Ascending Intercepting Strikes (knee, uppercut), Parries, Top Position control and lane clogging.

  • Self Defense - Front and Rear headlock

  • Combination Groups-  Learn at least 1 combination group (3 total) and using 1 with consistent success in sparring

  • Nemean Fight System -  Preventative Takedown Defense, Feinting

  • Principles - Feinting, Threat and Variable, Dilemma Principle,  

  • Takedowns - Run the Pipe and Knee Pick.  Body Lock to Backward Break, 

  • Wall - Single Leg, Double Leg, and Back Take

  • Takedown Defense - Preventative TD defense - Uppercuts, Front kicks, Whittaker Philly Shell,

  • Clinches / Clinch Defense - Under Over Pummeling

  • Standing Submissions - Rear Naked Choke

  • Ground  - Get back to feet from closed guard 

  • Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank


 

Blue Belt 

2 Years Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Basic Striking - Jumping and flying knee, front kick, side kick, and roundhouse kick

  • Basic Defensive Skills -   Point Bounce step and retreating pulls, leg kick swing out and step overs, TKD cut kick defense

  • Self Defense - Guillotine

  • Combination Groups-  Consistently applying 1 regularly in sparring against peers and modifying it to suit preferences

  • Nemean Fight System - Outside Foot Position and Pattern Breaking

  • Principles - Projected Intention, Punctuation, Angles, Conservation, and Monkey See Monkey Do

  • Takedowns - Osoto Gari, Kosoto Gari, Kouchi Gari, Ouchi Gari, Deashi Barai

  • Wall - Kosoto Gari

  • Takedown Defense - Sprawling, Limp Leg escape, 

  • Clinches / Clinch Defense - Escaping the Plum Clinch, Collar Tie Escapes

  • Standing Submissions - Guillotine, Collar choke, and Collar Grab

  • Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank

  • Overall - By now should be able to Win in fight against most untrained people


 

Blue Belt with Stripe

2 Years 6 Months Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Basic Defensive Skills -  Clinching to tie ups

  • Self Defense - Rear Choke escapes, Full Nelson Escapes, Bear hug escapes, judo grip escapes

  • Combination Groups-  Should know 6 combination groups

  • Nemean Fight System -  Overcoming the Thai Check

  • Principles - Luring, Hierarchy, Funneling Principles

  • Takedowns - Double Leg (w trip), Tai Otoshi, O Goshi, Uchi mata

  • Takedown/ Clinch Defense - Back control escapes

  • Standing Submissions - Kimura

  • Clinches - Russian Arm Tie 

  • Ground  - Recover guard from Side control / Mount.  

  • Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank


 

Purple Belt 

3 Years Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Basic Striking - Jumping Turning Back Kick, Flying Turning Back Kick, 2 touch kick, Tornado Kick, Jump spinning wheel kick

  • Basic Defensive Skills -  Sidestepping and pivot evasions, wedge blocking, Forcing the Miss

  • Combination Groups-  Should know 8 combination groups.  Should consistently use 2 of them.

  • Nemean Fight System - Blitzing and Advancing

  • Principles - Attributes, Patterns, Prequels, Opporutunism, Background Processes, Volume 

  • Takedowns - Nemean Series - Treetop, Inside foot control trip, back take to valley drop,

  • Takedown Defense - Late Response Body Lock Defense to Single/Double

  • Standing Submissions -  Cross Collar choke

  • Ground  -  Escape a back control.  Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank


 

Purple Belt with Stripe  

3 Years 6 months Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Basic Defensive Skills -  Modified Philly Shell Series

  • Nemean Fight System - Trapping

  • Principles - Top Position, Trifecta, Upright, Framing Principles

  • Takedowns - Snap down to headlock control to guillotine, ankle pick, or N/S turtle 

  • Takedown Defense -  Defending the snap down, counter the collar tie

  • Clinches / Clinch Defense - Over Under Clinch to Arm Drag, Lat Drag, Duck Under, and Lat Drop.  Makhachev Knees to set up the Deashi Barai

  • Standing Submissions -  Ezequiel

  • Ground  - Stand Up from half Guard.  Recover closed guard from half guard

  • Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank


 

Brown Belt  

4 Years Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Basic Defensive Skills -  Giving False Leads and Funneling for Predictive Countering

  • Combination Groups-  Series Specialization and Self Developed Group

  • Style Solution - Expertise at overcoming High volume and pressure strikers 

  • Principles - Psyops, Environment, Between Moments Principles

  • Takedowns - Harai Goshi, Hane Goshi

  • Takedown Defense - 

  • Clinches / Clinch Defense - Back Take and ¾ Back Take series.  Pulling seated back control.  Mat Returns

  • Standing Submissions - 

  • Ground  - N/S Turtle, Completing Failed Single Leg position system with Peek out, guard recovery, guillotine elbow drag escape, and completing the single.

  • Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank


 

Brown Belt with Stripe

4 Years 6 months Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Style Solution - Expertise at defeating Boxers

  • Principles - Centerline, Trapping, Exchange Principles

  • Takedowns - Drop Seionage, Guard Pulling

  • Clinches / Clinch Defense - Snap down to Underhook series with Sassae, Single Leg, Knee Pick, and Guillotine

  • Ground  - Supine Guard Vs Standing Opponent Series

  • Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank


 

Red Black Belt 

5 Years Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Self Defense - Multiple Opponent Defense Principles

  • Combination Groups-  Expertise in Combination Group use and fluidly adjust based on opponent or needs.  Has a system of at least 2 combination groups they can be an expert in use against even experienced strikers.

  • Style Solution - Expertise at defeating Muay Thai Fighters

  • Principles - Lanes, Right Stuff, Trunk and Branches Principles

  • Takedowns - Low Single Leg to inside Grip position trip.

  • Takedown Defense - Headlock Hip Throw Escape. Collar Grip Hip Throw Escapes

  • Clinches / Clinch Defense - Overhook Series to Straight Arm Lock, Americana, Overhand punch, Guillotine, and Suma Gaeshi

  • Standing Submissions -  Standing Back Controlled Straight Arm Lock.  Straight Arm Lock, Standing Americana

  • Ground  - Closed Guard and Half Guard Ground and Pound.  Proficient in 1 Pass

  • Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank


 

Red Black with Stripe 

5 Years 6 months Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Self Defense - Knife Disarm Principles and 3 Disarm Techniques

  • Style Solution - Expertise at defeating Point Fighters and Tall Fighters

  • Principles - Levels, Common Response, 1st and 3rd Principles

  • Takedowns - Soto Makikomi, 

  • Takedown Defense -  Osoto Gari Counters

  • Standing Submissions - Old Man Choke pull down to bow and Arrow choke

  • Ground  - Proficiency in 1 sweep and 1 sub from Closed Guard

  • Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank


 

Red Black with 2 Stripes

6 Years Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Basic Striking - Kotegaeshi, Ikkyo, Keitenage

  • Self Defense - Club Disarm principles and 3-5 Disarm Techniques

  • Style Solution - Expertise at defeating Grapplers and Wrestlers 

  • Principles - Exit Strategy, Fatigue,

  • Takedowns - Tomoe Nage 

  • Takedown Defense - Low Single Drop forward tripod, grab foot and kick bicep off

  • Standing Submissions - Standing Darce Choke

  • Ground  - Back take from Half Guard.  Lockdown Electric Chair sweep

  • Sparring - At least 50 Sparring Matches since last rank

 7 Years Total Training

  • All Previous Techniques at a higher proficiency

  • Basic Striking -  Iriminage, Sankyo, Shihonage

  • Basic Defensive Skills -  Verbal De-Escalation

  • Self Defense - Gun Disarm Principles and 3 Disarm Techniques

  • Style Solution - Expertise at experienced well rounded martial artists (striking and grappling) with better athleticism 

  • Principles - Proactive Reactive, Doubled Force, Setting Terms, Um Yang Principle

  • Takedowns - Scissor throw and 4-11 sweep.  Iminari Roll

  • Takedown Defense - Defending the Iminari Roll

  • Ground  - Back Control strong/weak side principles.  1 sub from Side Control, Mount, N/S.  Straight Ankle Lock from Straight Ashi.  Heel Hook from Cross Ashi.  Toe Hold

  • Sparring - At least 100 Sparring Matches since last rank
